Music Therapy

A man teaches a young boy to play the piano. What is Music Therapy? Music is an incredible medium for connection, and music therapists use it to create a space for physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth. This can include speech, fine and gross motor development, autonomy, and even spiritual growth, such as in self-acceptance. A Music Therapist is a trained and certified professional who utilises music with intention to stimulate connection and growth in their clients.

By engaging in various music-related cognitive and physical activities, we can work together to support growth in areas such as:

  • cognition/memory
  • self-expression
  • social skills
  • emotional regulation
  • stress and anxiety management
  • musical skill and confidence
